Agreement to these terms

Jackson & Schwab is a service of Jackson & Schwab Technologies. By using this website, submitting an enquiry, purchasing a service, or entering into an engagement with Jackson & Schwab, you agree to these terms to the extent applicable to that interaction.

A separate proposal, invoice, engagement letter, statement of work or written agreement may contain additional terms for a particular service. Where a specific engagement document conflicts with these general terms, the terms of the specific engagement document control for that engagement.

Our services

Jackson & Schwab may provide services including:

• nationality eligibility scans and preliminary route analysis;
• genealogy and family-line research performed for nationality or mobility purposes;
• analysis of historical nationality, naturalisation, residence and migration events;
• document and evidence strategy;
• identification, retrieval or coordination of civil, archival, immigration, military and other records;
• citizenship or residence application organisation and administrative preparation support;
• private-client citizenship, residence and international mobility planning;
• coordination with third-party professionals and specialist service providers where requested.

The exact scope of a paid engagement is determined by the service selected or the written scope provided to the client.

Research, eligibility and government decisions

Jackson & Schwab uses available records, historical sources, client information and nationality rules to assess potential citizenship, nationality or residence routes.

Research findings represent our assessment based on the information and sources reasonably available at the time the work is performed.

Genealogical and historical records may also contain errors, omissions, inconsistent spellings, inaccurate dates, incomplete indexes or conflicting information. The absence of a record does not necessarily establish that an event did not occur.

Where new evidence materially changes a factual assumption underlying the original analysis, the case may require additional research or a revised assessment.

Client responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing information that is accurate to the best of their knowledge and for notifying Jackson & Schwab if they discover that previously supplied information is incorrect or incomplete.

Clients must not knowingly provide forged, altered, misleading or unlawfully obtained documents.

You are responsible for reviewing names, dates, relationships and other factual information contained in case materials and telling us promptly if something appears incorrect.

Some government procedures require the applicant personally to sign declarations, attend appointments, obtain identity documents, submit biometrics, swear statements or communicate directly with an authority. Jackson & Schwab cannot perform acts that legally or procedurally must be performed by the applicant.

Fees, payment and external costs

Fees displayed on the website are starting prices unless expressly stated otherwise. Complex cases may require a separate quote based on the number of jurisdictions, generations, family lines, records or legal questions involved.

Payment terms for a particular engagement may be stated at checkout, on an invoice or in an engagement proposal.

Unless expressly included in writing, Jackson & Schwab service fees do not include external costs such as:

• government application or certificate fees;
• passport fees;
• archive or civil-registry charges;
• certified-copy fees;
• apostilles and legalisation charges;
• translations;
• notarial fees;
• courier or postage charges;
• third-party legal or professional fees;
• travel or appointment-related costs.

Third-party professionals and service providers

Some matters may involve independent lawyers, translators, genealogists, archives, government agencies, notaries, relocation professionals, accountants, tax advisers, real-estate professionals or other specialists.

Where Jackson & Schwab introduces or coordinates a third-party provider, that provider remains responsible for its own professional work, advice, pricing, availability and conduct unless expressly stated otherwise.

A referral, introduction or coordination arrangement does not guarantee the performance or outcome of a third-party service.

Where legal, tax, financial or regulated advice is required, that advice must come from a professional authorised to provide it in the relevant jurisdiction.

Timelines and delays

Any estimated completion time is an estimate rather than a guaranteed deadline unless Jackson & Schwab expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Research and document work can depend on archives, government offices, foreign civil registries, third-party professionals, postal services and other organisations outside our control.

A case may therefore take longer than initially expected where records are unavailable, offices are delayed, additional evidence is required, or new facts materially change the research required.

Government processing times after submission are entirely outside Jackson & Schwab's control.

Cancellation, refunds and changes in scope

Because nationality research and case preparation involve professional time and work that may begin shortly after payment, fees are not automatically refundable once substantive work on an engagement has begun.

If a client asks to cancel before work has begun, Jackson & Schwab may provide a refund subject to payment-processing costs or other amounts already incurred.

If an engagement is cancelled after work has begun, any refund or credit will depend on the work already completed, costs already incurred and the terms of the specific engagement.

Discovering that a client does not have a viable nationality route does not by itself make a completed eligibility scan or research engagement refundable. Determining that a route is not viable may itself be the result of the service purchased.

Where new information substantially expands the scope of a case, Jackson & Schwab may propose additional work and fees before continuing beyond the original scope.

Reports, research and intellectual property

Upon payment, clients may use reports, research summaries, evidence plans and case materials prepared specifically for them for their personal or family nationality, residence or mobility purposes.

Jackson & Schwab retains ownership of its underlying methodologies, templates, software, systems, databases, workflows, research frameworks, branding and other intellectual property that is not unique client information.

Clients retain ownership of documents and information they provide to us.

Website content, branding, design and proprietary Jackson & Schwab materials may not be copied, reproduced, resold or represented as another person's work without permission.

Limitations and responsibility

Jackson & Schwab will perform agreed services with reasonable care based on the scope of the engagement and the information reasonably available.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jackson & Schwab is not responsible for losses arising solely from:

• government decisions or changes in law or policy;
• government or archival delays;
• inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by a client or third party;
• errors contained in historical or official records;
• acts or omissions of independent third-party service providers;
• the rejection, expiry or withdrawal of a particular immigration or nationality programme;
• events outside Jackson & Schwab's reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Website use

The public website is provided for general information and access to Jackson & Schwab services.

General website content should not be treated as a personalised determination of citizenship, residence eligibility, immigration status, legal rights, tax consequences or financial suitability.

You may not attempt to interfere with the website, access non-public systems without authorisation, submit malicious code, use automated systems in a manner that materially disrupts the service, or misuse forms or contact channels.

We may update, suspend, restrict or discontinue website features when reasonably necessary.

Privacy and client information

Our handling of personal information is described in the Jackson & Schwab Privacy Notice.

Nationality work can involve identity documents, family histories and information concerning relatives or ancestors. Clients should provide only information reasonably relevant to the service being requested.

General terms

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

A failure by Jackson & Schwab to enforce a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later.

These terms may be updated as our services, technology or legal obligations evolve. The version in effect when a client enters a specific paid engagement will ordinarily govern that engagement unless otherwise agreed.

The applicable law and forum for a particular paid engagement may be specified in the engagement agreement, invoice terms or other written agreement associated with that service.
